Rekindling Our Relationship with Allah – 2022 and the Road Ahead

With COVID-19 almost on its way out (in sha Allah!), as Muslims, we should take out some time and actively reflect on the last couple of years. From the pandemic, to the sudden loss of so many of our dear ones, our faith requires us to believe that every single thing in this world happens for a reason. As the Quran (6:59) teaches us: “Not a leaf falls but that He knows it. And no grain is there within the darknesses of the earth and no moist or dry (thing) but that it is (written) in a clear record.”

Knowing that Allah knows everything, the question arises: How much do WE know Allah? And what are we doing to increase our knowledge (experiential or otherwise) of Him?

Whatever the answers may be, it’s probably safe to say that WE need to continue being (gently) reminded about Him. For this task, our first product of 2022 needed to be simple, elegant, and contemplative all at the same time. And what better way to achieve this than to use simple (and effective!) phrases such as bismillah, subhanallah, alhamdulillah, and in sha Allah!

Place these sacred words near the entrance of your home, office, or business and let it serve as a reminder that no matter what situation we find ourselves in, Allah’s name should remain in our hearts and on your tongues. Through remembering Him in all of our states, our experience of Him increases. And when our experience of Him increases, His love for us grows. And, as the hadith states, “When I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask (something) of Me, I would surely give it to him, and were he to ask for refuge, I would surely grant him it.” (Bukhari)

May Allah ta’ala grant us the ability to collectively embrace 2022 by renewing our faith and commitment to Him. And may He facilitate this process for us through His remembrance. Amin!
