Fatima (May Allah be pleased with her), in spite of being the queen of the women of Jannah, used to personally carry out many of the household chores. In fact, on account of working with the hand-mill for a prolonged period of time, she developed blisters on her hand. After some time, she requested the assistance of a maidservant from her beloved father, the Prophet (May Allah bless him and give him peace). Upon hearing her request, the Prophet (May Allah bless him and give him peace) said to her and her husband, ‘Ali (May Allah be pleased with both of them): “Shall I not teach you something that is better than what you asked for? When you retire to your beds at night, to recite subhanallah thirty-three times, alhamdulillah thirty-three times, and Allahu Akbar thirty-four times. This is better for the both of you than having a maidservant.” (Bukhari)
